Overview of the Test
The Psilocybe cubensis Hawaiian 3-P3 strain was subjected to a detailed laboratory analysis to determine its chemical composition and moisture content. This analysis was conducted by Rose Hill in partnership with ACS Laboratory, a leading facility in the field. The results provide important insights into the potency and quality of this particular mushroom strain.
Key Findings
Psilocybin and Psilocin Levels The primary psychoactive compounds in Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms are psilocybin and psilocin. In the Hawaiian 3-P3 strain, the analysis showed:
- Psilocybin: 6.134 mg/g, which constitutes 0.613% of the mushroom’s total weight.
- Psilocin: 0.364 mg/g, making up 0.0364% of the total weight.
The combined total of psilocybin and psilocin per package amounts to 32.964 mg, which is 0.649% of the package weight. This suggests a moderate potency, appropriate for those who are familiar with using psychoactive mushrooms.
Additional Alkaloids Several other alkaloids were also detected in the Hawaiian 3-P3 strain:
- Baeocystin: 0.36 mg/g (0.036% of the total weight)
- Norbaeocystin: 0.0439 mg/g (0.00439% of the total weight)
- Norpsilocin: 0.035 mg/g (0.0035% of the total weight)
- Aeruginascin: 0.0243 mg/g (0.00243% of the total weight)
These additional alkaloids contribute to the overall effect of the mushroom, although they are present in much smaller quantities compared to psilocybin and psilocin.
Moisture Content
The moisture content of the Hawaiian 3-P3 strain was measured at 5.94%. A low moisture level is crucial for the long-term stability and preservation of the mushroom’s potency. This moisture level indicates that the mushrooms have been adequately dried and are ready for storage.
Implications for Use
The Hawaiian 3-P3 strain shows a balanced profile with moderate levels of psilocybin and psilocin, making it suitable for individuals with some experience in using psychoactive mushrooms. The presence of additional alkaloids adds to the complexity of its effects, offering a unique experience for the user.
